Need a copywriter? I’m here to help you find your voice, bring personality and character to your brand, and to earn you happy subscribers and loyal followers in style.
After over a decade of experience in writing, editing, and publishing for books, websites, email campaigns, press releases, scripts, website construction, and artist branding, I recently published my 70,000-word memoir, traumedy, grimoire, or whatever you wanna call it. I’m a Portland-based trans lesbian from the South, a performing musician, model, actress, audiobook narrator, music producer, recording artist, etymology nerd, and insufferable punster.
Let’s create something together.
⇢Author of Transangelicism: memoir of a transgender ex-vangelical, followed by ongoing national book tour, released in 2024.
⇢ Frontwoman, manager, and agent of queer Appalachian doom punk band Public Universal Friend, including multi-album Mailchimp email campaigns since 2008, as well as interviews for NPR (WFYI Indianapolis), Mahogany (UK), and Pattern Magazine, in collaboration with numerous arts-based media publications across the U.S.
⇢ Administrator and email script writer/editor for GenderNexus, an Indiana-based gender-diverse social services clinic founded in 2014.
published excerpts:
“When my body dissolves into space once again, in millennia, or possibly moments from now, logical proofs and philosophically sound peer-based critical review will not reveal any more than what exists in the ocean; in the universe of my own mind, body, and memory. To sense one’s experience, one must live it. Should one cease to live, the experience exists in that part of spacetime forever, nowhere and no-when else. Love is shared with others, the beauty and pain is seen and known, and then it is shared. There is no currency behind it. No money nor fame nor power. What remains in the end, the very end for those who dare to imagine, is the divine spirit. The spirit that is endlessly, wholly real, full of selfness and eternity.”

###
Since their debut in 2020, Public Universal Friend’s record Perennials has signified Friend’s progression of an earthy brand of indie rock songwriting, whose sonic roots cite post-punk and 90s emo with echoes of Appalachian roots and spiritual music. Friend’s lyrical themes have historically gravitated toward the value of emotive honesty and speaking truth in power, embodied through a profoundly unique perspective of identity, faith, and gender expansive existence. These poetic incantations foster an inclusive live environment of authentic engagement, all for the sake of exploring the overarching theme of finding out who we really are and the beauty of living within it.
With a vitality and youth in this new season of performance, we as listeners now experience the sounds and energies being exclaimed in a space full with the dignity and worth of each beautiful existence we bring to the table. With a voice so long in the making, the newest material is forever surprising, uplifting, and meeting us where we are, speaking truth in power over every space the music may occupy.

It matters not how deep one may bury this treasure should it be found. It’s not about believing it deep in your soul but in something as common as one’s senses. The soul is nothing without the sense by which to allay it. What then would a soul be but a vapor if there were no one to behold it? Behold yourself, honey
